What we collect, and what we don’t.

We keep this simple because the site is simple. We do not track you around the web, we do not run advertising networks, and we do not sell your data. Here is the whole picture.

What we don’t do

No tracking cookies. No advertising pixels. No selling of data. No following you around the web. Browsing the destinations involves no cookies and no account.

Privacy-friendly analytics

We use cookieless analytics to count visits, see roughly where visitors come from, which destinations get looked at, and which booking links get clicked. It is aggregate and anonymous: no cookies, no personal profiles, and nothing that identifies you or follows you to other sites. We use it only to understand what is useful and what to build next.

Launch updates (only if you ask)

If you enter your email address to join the launch list, we use it for one thing: to email you about Destinations for Family. Your address is passed to the email tool that runs our list and is stored there. We will not pass it to anyone else, and you can ask us to delete it at any time by emailing hello@destinationsforfamily.com.

Your saved places stay on your device

When you save a destination with the heart, the shortlist is stored in your own browser (local storage). It never reaches our servers. Clear your browser data and it is gone.

Booking links

When you follow a booking or hotel link, you leave our site and the booking partner’s own privacy policy takes over. Some of those links are affiliate links. Here is how that works.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us what we hold about you (in practice, only your launch-list email if you gave it), and ask us to correct or delete it. Email hello@destinationsforfamily.com and we will sort it.

Destinations for Family is operated by Makappen Ltd, Winchester, UK. This is a plain-English summary of how the site works today; we will update it as the site grows.
